Q. When should I submit an application for admission?

A. The Admissions Office begins accepting applications from 15 December for the coming school year beginning in March & June.

Q. Can I submit the required documents as they are completed?

A. An application is processed only when all required documents and necessary payments have been submitted. Please send all required documents and fee payments together.

Q. Should I send my child’s achievement and extra-curricular award certificates to the admissions office?

A. No. You should only send the required documents from the checklist, including any special learning needs documentation. If additional information is required, we will contact you.

Q. Do I need an appointment to visit DCS?

A. Yes. Please see the Visit DCS page for more details.

Q. Do all children receive interviews before an acceptance decision is made?

A. No. Interviews are not required for admission. However, in certain instances an interview may be requested before a decision on admissibility is made.

Q. Does my child need to speak English in order to gain admission to DCS?

A. There is no formal English requirement for students to enter Grade 1-Grade 5.

Applicants to Grades 6-12 must take an English Entrance Exam to determine their eligibility for admission.

Q. When will I know if my child has been accepted?

A. Once an application is complete (all required documents and appropriate fee payments have been made) it usually takes up to a week to process the application. Please note that during peak times for application the review process may take much longer. Most admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. As DCS nears capacity, some candidates will be placed in the wait pool, according to priority category and seats will be awarded as they become available.

Q. How is an applicant’s position in the wait pool determined?

A. Students are placed in the wait pool according to our priority categories. Please see the Policies page for more information. An applicant position is fluid and often changes as an applicant from another category is added.

Q. Is it possible to meet with a counselor or the principal on a visit to the school?

A. Due to the high number of applicants each year and to ensure that services to our current students are not compromised, applicants do not meet with faculty or staff outside of the admissions office. If there are questions the admissions office is unable to answer, we will research the topic and get back to you with appropriate information.

Q. Is the Application Fee refundable?

A. No. The Rs 5000. Application Fee is a one-time non-refundable fee.

Q. When do I have to pay the Advance Deposit?

A. The Rs 25000. Advance Deposit payment is required along with the admission application for March applicants. Anyone seeking admission at other times will be required to pay the Advance Deposit as part of the Application Process in order for their child’s application to be reviewed.

Q. Is the Advance Payment refundable?

A. The Advance Deposit is 100% refundable prior to March 1 provided you have not declined a seat. The Deposit is also refundable anytime thereafter, if you are in the wait pool and have not been offered a seat.
